    I vote "It doesn't matter."

    They're remerging.

And now, I don't care which I use. Beryl may have more features, but Compiz has all the features I enable, so it doesn't matter to me.

Neither. I don't find either to be particularly stable. And they don't play nicely with the nVidia drivers.

Actually, it doesn't really matter. Beryl is in favor of Nvidia, and ATI support compiz better somehow. Sometimes, you don't even have choice.

Neither, because not yet entirely stable and consumes a lot of system resources.

Stable depends on driver and configuration with knowledge of using Linux.

System resource requirement is much lighter than Vista. I should say much much lighter. With 512M ram, you can fly.

I find Beryl pretty stable, and I have never gotten Compiz to work correctly under KDE. So I vote Beryl. I'm glad they're re-merging though. Compiz needed the kick in the pants to add features, and Beryl needs a bit of sanity. I would love if Compiz got Beryl's configuration application.

I think the two projects should get back together; they both seem to be lacking what the other has in terms of features and stability. I don't even know why they are two separate projects in the first place.

Hopefully in re-merging, neither side will feel too reminded of why they forked in the first place. Assuming everything goes well, the new version of Compiz should please both crowds.

Still not sure if i'd use it though, besides for the pretty effects.

humm, beryl was pretty stable compare compiz before. But seems compiz catch this up. The 0.5 version looks good.
