Hey guys, I just have a quick question. I'll be setting up my home server in about a week or two when I get all the parts together, and I was wondering how I would be able to get BluRay working on a Linux install. The drive I'm getting is just a bare BD-R drive, no software (as if it'd have Linux software anyway). Specifically, I'd like to be able to rip my BluRay discs onto the server, separate the movies/shows from the extra stuff like commercials, menus, etc. Any suggestions?

Handbrake.

Handbrake will automagically handle everything described? Just asking since I've never used it.

Inb4 you are using that server to seed torrents all over the world. -
Nope, absolutely no uploading whatsoever planned.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestion, I'll check it out. -
Handbrake won't decode encrypted blu-ray, though.
Take a look at MakeMKV as well. MakeMKV - Make MKV from Blu-ray and DVD This tool is actually worth buying.
