Ok, so I installed Arch, Xorg, and KDE. I tried to boot up and login but I keep getting a message saying I can't log in as root. So I went and created a new account. When I try to login with that account, it tries to load up but then kicks me back to the login screen. I know it's not a credential error because I purposely entered a wrong one to see and then it says that the password is incorrect. I can't get it past the login. I know this won't be enough information but tell me what else you need to try to help me. Thanks in advance.

I guess I should also mention that after I put in the login credentials, the sceen goes black for a second and then it tries to load something, then it blacks out again, and then it goes back to the login screen.

I did the beginner's guide as well as looking at all of the individual wikis for each one. I think I might try to do it over again just to see.

Well I got it working, but it doesn't like my battery, soundcard, or me. I guess I'll just move on to another distro. I try out so many....
Plus that was the first time I've tried KDE and I have to say out of Gnome, kde, and xfce, I like Gnome the best.

For your other issues, you'd be best off asking about them over at the Arch forums.
