    Suse has come up with a new way to make your own Suse Linux distro; Suse Studio.
    It's in alpha stage so we'll have to wait a bit for a final release date but everyone is invited to join and test this new development.
    This is what is promised;
    Based on OpenSuse 10.3, people can now make, and I quote from their site;

    *Create a tuned server appliance, containing your application and just enough operating system components
    *Spin a live CD or DVD with just the packages and software you need
    *Create a ready-to-run VMware or Xen virtual server appliance
    *Create a live USB key and carry your Linux system with you wherever you go
    *Build a hard disk image for preloading onto hardware
    *Install from your live CD, DVD or USB key to your hard drive

    You are free to choose Gnome or KDE or only make a lightweight distro with just the CLI.
    Add development tools, office programs and games to your wishes.
    You can completely select your own package and decide yourself whether you want the package as a disk-image, live-cd/dvd or as a virtual machine for Vmware and Xen.

    I think it's an amazing step.
    Maybe not suitable for someone new to linux but for the intermediate/advanced user a great development.

    Awesome!

    Thanks for posting this. I've been watching version 11 rc1, but this is even bigger news(for me) than that.

    I'd love to have a KDE openSuSE with just build essentials and a couple of key components on a USB drive.
