    CPU T8100 in OpenSUSE 11.2

    My CPU's default factory clocking is @ 2.10 GHz, but OpenSUSE shows that it is clocked at 800Mhz. This is not right, any driver ?

    Download CPUz and check.

    Also you might see the frequency drop below 2.1ghz because of intel speedstep.

    And BTW, 800mhz is the FSB frequency (200mhz real FSB quad pumped).

    The CPU will run at 800MHz unless a load is on it, and then it'll clock up. My media center's 2.7GHz dual-core CPU runs at 1.35GHz until it has a load that starts stressing the CPU at the lower speed, and it ramps up until things are good. Even the Code 2 Duo in this machine is running at 800MHz right now. It'll clock up to 2GHz if it needs to, though.
