The font color is in your theme, so I'm not sure why changing to a normal theme wouldn't work. Your font color for entry fields needs to change.

If your gnome theme is forcing this on you, you can change it by going to system->preferences->appearance->customize->colors->input boxes

Or you can install gnome-color-chooser and under Global Colors change the foreground color for Entry Fields.

Try changing the foreground and/or background under Default Configuration (in gnome-color-chooser).. if a website has a stylesheet that changes the color of the text input box, you'd have to override with this or a custom stylesheet in firefox.

I finally got it.I had to go into the theme settings like allurgroceries post #2 and set every thing for the input boxes back to default and set every thing in gnome-color-chooser to defaults. Now the boxes are white with black text.Even just setting everything up like allurgroceries advised in post two didn't help.It had something to do with gnome-color-chooser and both being set to default settings.I'll play with it later and see if I can figure out why it changed it when it wouldn't change for me directly.
