As titled I am unable to download the 7.10 dvd image from the cdimage.ubuntu.com website or from any of the international mirrors that host the 4.2GB file. When attempting, the file download completes instantly dumping a 0B .iso file at the saved location which cannot be opened.
Any help would be extremely appreciated.

May I suggest grabbing it via Torrent? Usually it's faster, it's easier/kinder on the Ubuntu servers, and will try to transfer it via a different method so it may actually download the whole thing.

4.2gb and you're going to download it as 1 file??? Lordy, I hope you have a resume feature in case it goes down while you're halfway there. I uploaded the win vista anytime upgrade disk to the net and it took me 21 hours and it was just 2.5 gb. I split it up into about 6 5oomb parts. Is it split up into parts to make it easier to download?? It will take you a heck of a long time to download.

I'd upload it for you but it would take forever........

Yup, I'd use a download manager so I can resume the whole thing just in case.
But if I use the torrent I'd be uploading the same file at the same time which would be at the expense of my bandwidth translating into more price and more money.

is there a reason you're DLing 4.2 instead of 700 MBs?

Just to be sure, because my last experience with the 6.06 cd wasn't very good for the lack of drivers. I think the dvd will save me the driver foraging part.

Post your system spec's to see if anyone has close to yours. I will say the live cd image is fairly complete for as far as drivers go. If you have one not included then download it before the OS install and then manually install it. The biggest ones are the Ethernet adapter and video if you have something not typically used.

I'd agree. The amount of drivers you'll install will be extremely low compared to the additional 3.5GB you'll download. Out of the box, I had about 20MB worth of extras to install to get my box running right.

What kind of ISP are you using that downloading 3.5 extra GB is no problem, but uploading 500MB (Probable average for the Ubuntu DVD torrent) is an issue?
