This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    So I just got an Acer C7 Chromebook delivered. It was $199 list and $218 or so delivered to my door. I followed the install instructions from this youtube video and it's working like a champ so far: Ubuntu 12.04 on an Acer Chromebook C7. So if you wanted a cheap little machine to run Ubuntu on, this is a pretty nice deal. Heck it even has dual band 802.11n on it.
