Many thanks but, with the CnM Minibook, there does not appear to be any way I can find to enter a command. I have tried PhotoRec but I could find no way to run it. Any suggestions?

Sorry, it doesn't have atrash bin! There appears to be no way to navigate the way you suggest because you cannot see anything but "My Documents" in the "File Manager". From the manual, the CnM MiniBook uses an "optimzed Linux based operating system" which "ensures optimum performance wth the minimum system resources".

There is a "Softeware Installer" but it requires an accompanying .info file which did not seem to come with Photorec.

looks like the Cnm minibook hasa different interface and is totally stripped down..
its different than installing a linux distro on a regular laptop/desktop..
    i really don't know..never used one..
and they appear to be discontinued...

    there's also this:
    http://www.littlelinuxlaptop.com/software/
that's software for the cnm minibook
it may have something in there u can find useful :)
