    Yea, about time! :p

I read the release notes the other day, no more floppy install! :(

The release notes for x64 can be found here.

Sweet! Time to test out Debian 5.0 on my spare desktop. How is Debian 5.0 running on your T61, Fire Snake?

Yup, time to upgrade. I always run testing on my desktop, so I changes the sources to Squeeze.

Debian Lenny is running GREAT on my T61p :D . I installed a real barebones version of Gnome on my machine so I had to spend quite some time to get things up and going as I wanted. I am still not done configuring everything, but most everything I need is up and running.

    Details:
    - Comes with kernel 2.6.26
    - Intel 4965 Intel wifi works perfectly(requires some configuration though)
    - Wired ethernet works perfectly
    - Built in trackpad and trackpoint work perfectly
    - Screen resolution is set perfectly
    - My bluetooth mouse works perfectly and reassociates with the machine after a reboot(required some research on this and some tweaking, but works great now).
    - Audio from speakers works perfectly
    - All USB ports work
    - DVD drive works and I can play movies from it
    - Still working on figuring out how to install the nvidia driver
    - Wifi light and Bluetooth light blink like they should

There are two ways to install the proprietary nvidia drivers, you can either do it the Debian way or get them straight from NVIDIA. Good luck.
