Debian on the Gateway P-6831 FX

I installed Debian Lenny on my new Gateway P-6831 FX. The xorg.conf appears to be wrong:

I tried running dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg:

It's supposed to configure the mouse next. But it just quits back to the terminal.

Any ideas?
