I'm just wondering if anyone can suggest a good alternative to xubuntu's "gthumb" image viewer? I don't care for it, and I really miss the one from Ubuntu lucid.
Any suggestions?

What are your requirements? Try eog (eye of gnome), shotwell, gwenview, digikam
For more options, try something like this:
Code:apt-cache search "(photo|image) (viewer|browser|organizer|manage)" | sort | more

My requirements are just basic image viewing. I'll check out your suggestions, thanks.
Edit: eog is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot! -
gpicview is also a nice lightweight image viewer.

Thanks, but you're a little late.
I'm very happy with 'eye of gnome'.

I just tried out Pinta on 12.04.1 did exactly what I needed, I found gimp overkill for me. I only wanted to reduce the size of a picture (down to about 20%) but could not figure out how to do this in shotwell.
Decent alternative to "gthumb" image viewer?
