Hi All,
I am looking at buying a Dell Latitude E5530, and was wondering what the Linux support is like for the hardware.
I am a Linux Sysadmin for 14+ years and am very comfortable with patching and setting things up on my laptop. (been running a Dell Latitude D630 for a bit over 5 years now), with Ubuntu on it.
While I would prefer to stick with stock Ubuntu and not have to patch drivers or userspace, I wouldn't be adverse to it.
Any gotchas I should look out for?
TIA,
Greg.

Dell's datasheet says that it should work with Ubuntu 11.10 ( http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/latit/dell_latitude_e5530_spec_sheet.pdf).
Considering that it doesn't come with dedicated graphics and the rest of the parts are standard fair, I don't see this having any problem with a Linux distro. Though I recommend getting the 1080p display.

I took the E5530 used, 2 weeks before. Before 2 days I installed the last LTS version of Ubuntu nad now it's duoal boot (Windows 7).
All (at least the basics) worked ok "out of the box". -
