Dell is selling their Inspiron 15 for cheap with Ubuntu 8.04. My laptop needs replacing and I am thinking of going that route rather than netbook. What are some of the drawbacks and differences I would be facing. Someone mentioned connectivity as an issue. This would be for light personal use, vids, E mail, messaging etc. I now use FF3 with IE in the pinch.

Ubuntu should work for that just fine. Just remember that your Windows porgrams won't work.
