    Hi there,

i´ve tried to install ubuntu (15.04) on my new dell XPS 13 /2015 (i7/8GB7256GB/QHD+ Touch) with latest Software and Firmware updates.

Every time (live USB Stick or Installed on SSD) it starts in the GUI for mobile phones where i can not do anything instead of using browser / camera and such stuff, all menus are "mobile phone", also the setup "tutorial" (after system installation with or without "receive latest updates via ethernet dongle).

Also no success by "apt-get update" and "apt-get dist-upgrade" every time it starts in the mobilephone GUI.

I can open Console and login there, but no plan how to start the desktop GUI, anyone any solution for that?

    Many thanks
    aVa

I think you have installed the wrong version of ubuntu, perhaps a beta.. The new Unity 8(incomplete) interface in ubuntu beta has these touch features/convergence. I think you want to install the regular 15.04 version of Ubuntu with Unity 7.
You can find daily images here with Unity 7:

Try with a Linux Mint 17.1 distro with Cinnamon, it handles HiDPI perfectly!
