    Hi there,

does anyone knows something about the Linux compatibility of the brand new Dell XPS L521X Laptop?

I'm interested especially in boot-time (equivalent to Intel Rapid Start) and the Fan handling.

    TIA

I tried a live Ubuntu, it booted very fast. As to fan handling, iirc it kept ramping up and down a bit too much for my liking.

Has anyone else tried Ubuntu in the laptop? I'm wondering about the battery life? Since there is no official support for optimus on linux, you would have to use bumblebee to switch between the nvidia and intel cards.
