Hello, I am buying a dell vostro 1310 ,I am concerned about its linux compatability [will linux detect its drivers etc? and
I would like to know if there might be any sort of problems that I may face if I dual boot it with linux (windwos and linux) If any as I have never bought a laptop this would be my first .
Also i need to know which bluthooth module should I choose? [basically from Linux-compatability point of view]
    Dell™ Wireless 360 Bluetooth® Module (Vista)

    Dell™ Wireless 360 Bluetooth® Module (XP)
and will this wifi work fine on linux?
    Intel® Pro Wireless 3945 (802.11 a/b/g) MiniPCI Card

This question might sound stupid but i dont have any useful support nor is there any dell's 'official' help-center/shop for Pakistan , so i have to be very careful before I buy.

I would use linux for everything (webbrowsing, movies, songs, gimp,oo ) no windows for me :).
[also just for general knowledge, if I get dell bluethooth XP module ,if I install windows vista for it will it run it ? are drivers available for it?]

Well, that wireless card and bluetooth chip should work perfectly with Linux.

There is no difference in the two 8400M GS's, and even if there was, they'd use the same driver. Are you planning a dual boot?

yup i will dual boot, I was aware 8400M GS are same hardware,I was saying that if the difference between the aforementioned 2 bluethooth devices is divers only , then should they just mention every hardware twice like 8400M GS (VISTA), and 8400M GS (XP)

The Bluetooth should be the same for either of them.
