    LOL.
To compare THIS IT pioneer to that "IT Pioneer" would be like comparing Beethoven to Britney Spears.
IMO it is an insult to Dennis Ritchie.
He didn't just make Shiny iStuff, he "make world".
    RIP.

    I know. :(
But as you can see* few people today know Beethoven. You have to give them some crude relation like comparing him to Britney Spears or they will not value the true mastermind.

Almost every computing stuff you see around you is either directly related or indirectly related to his creation.
But a lot of people don't know who is he.

We have lost Dennis Ritchie and so close to Steve Jobs.

What a thought. Without Dennis there would have been no Steve. Yet we get to celebrate a legacy and benefit from two great minds.

I thank you both for the services you offered the world. Without you I would not have a computer much less the Playbook I have (iPad started it) and enjoy.

It is sad to lose such visionaries and I send my best wishes to your families. Your legacy will forever live on..... RIP

Being a C programmer (my first programming book was his "The C Programming Language") and a heavy Linux/UNIX user, I feel sad for his death.

    printf("goodbye, world\n"); :/

The book was co-authored with Kernighan. I was so used to that thin book being referred to by both authors names, Kernighan & Ritchie, that it took me a while to realize who Ritchie was.

10 years ago we had Steve Jobs, Bob Hope and Johnny Cash
Now we have no Jobs, no Hope and no Cash.

    RIP Dennis Ritchie.

I just had a big big discution about Apple, Jobs and Ritchie.

He was saying that Jobs did everything and hes new to Computer Science and from the moment he was Jobs documentary. He sad that Jobs was like a god he invented everything not knowig that Apple uses a lot of things that Ritchie did. not to mention what apple does in courts thinking that they are the only one and they invented everything.

I JUST DONT LIKE apple AND I WILL NEVER. :D
