I have a friend who has a old computer running...um..I believe Windows 98, but I'm not sure. Anyways I got another old computer and took some parts, and upgraded the hardware.
As of now the tech specs are...
Pentium II CPU at 400MHz
512MB of Ram DDR
I can't remember on the top of my head what the FSB and memory bus speeds were, but they were pretty low as to be imagined.
I also installed another harddrive to run Linux on.
After searching around for Linux distros, I noticed that it looks like the CPU is probably the bottleneck of the computer, but once again I'm not sure.
My friend would mostly use Linux for papers, he wont have access to online so that wont be important.
So what type of distro would you recommend?
As of now Xubuntu looks the best, but I just want to know what you guys would run in my position.
Thanks.
