    On this DistroWatch.com page, a recent interview with Linux Torvalds, creator of the Linux kernel, can be found.
    Read about his preferences and interests;
    Why he currently uses Fedora with Gnome, why he thinks the Gnome people treat users like idiots, the upcoming 'battle' between Ext4 vs Btrfs and more.
    Cheers.

    Yea I saw that on /. I was surprised to see that he's done a 180 on using KDE. He still complains about Gnome but I guess that shows how much he really doesn't like KDE4:

    The flamebait factor isn't helpful but it's always interesting to know what the King Penguin is using in his toolkit (despite all the politics).

    Is he not also the one that despises C++ because one can write bad code using it? (Counter-point: I'm sure I could write one ugly C program, does that mean C sucks?)

    Yes. There's quite a bit of flameworthy material if you start searching the internet for things Linus has said ;)

    I think he's right on with this. Convincing the people of the wisdom of a change is one of the most difficult things, something I've realized applies to myself as well.

    He thinks KDE4 is immature. He doesn't dislike it. Big difference ;)

    KDE4 is a work-in-progress... most people weren't really happy with KDE3 until it hit the 3.5 series. The same kind of progression will happen with KDE4... just look at all the glowing reviews of KDE4.2

    The relevant quote about KDE4 from Torvalds:

    Is that the picture of Torvalds? If so, he looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger's ilegitimate brother..... :D :D Seriously, thanks for the link...I don't know, guess I'll have to stick with KDE and Debian-based unless Fedora can wow the heck out of me this time around... :D

    Yeah that's an older pic of him. I met him at LinuxWorld 99, he came to my booth and shook my hand!! :D

    He does look a lot like the Governator. But he is from Finland, not Austria ;)

    I did too...used to like it until I had windows networking problems, but I'll check out both the Gnome and KDE versions...last time I tried it was Core 8.

    @Groceries: I've seen many pics of him, but that one, wow....the Governator Incarnate!

    People who rave about KDE 4, whether it's .1, .2, .3 (doesn't matter) must have been paid. It's way too early to get excited about KDE 4 with all the bugs and weird things that happen in it. I can see why Linux abandoned KDE. It would probably have to be a huge improvement, too, since he seems quite fussy about it.

    KDE 4.2 is stable...no crashes. I've ran it on Debian Testing and Ubuntu Jaunty.
