Does the 3 dvd debian set contain non-free packages ?

I can access the non-free packages from the debian repos anyway, so why are they "not free" ?

I think it is non free as in closed source or some license that Debian doesnt consider fully free. It is still free ware and doesnt cost money.

Wave is correct; non-free simply means that they aren't covered under the GPL or a similar open source license, and they are proprietary or contain some proprietary bits of code in them.
