I have dual booting setup on this laptop with linux mint9 and Windows 7RC. I haven't touched win7 on this in a long time and being just an alpha build I'm ready to get rid of it and possibly replace with xp or vista.
I plan to wipe Win7 and want to reinstall windows. How do I reinstall windows without messing up grub?

    my partitions look like this:
    [150gb ntfs windows][20gb /root ext3][120gb /home ext3][8gb swap]

It's a while since I've done this but. You will mess up grub when you reinstall Windows, but you can recover it afterwards. Exactly how depends on whether you're using grub/grub2.

If you google 'recover grub grub2' you'll find lots of instructions.
