The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Great news! I'm typing this from Ubuntu. It was all so simple. I was talking to a guy at worked today and he told me that I just needed to leave the modem unplugged for a minute so it would empty the mac address from memory and now I'm online! :D
    Thanks for all the help and suggestions!

    Now I'm up in running but I'm not being very successful in downloading anything.

    Here's the order I've tried to install things and the error messages.

    Rosegarden- Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: kdelibs4c2a
    Kdelibs4c2a- Error: Conflicts with the installed package: kdelibs-bin
    Audacity- Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libc6
    libc6- Error: A later version is already installed

    I think this thing is just messing with me...
