So I have Ubuntu 7.10, and a little problem.
I created an ext3 partition called 'data' under /media/data...and I now want to rename it. Can't figure out how to do it...![]()

Damn, just pulled GParted out of my machine. Not positive, but I think you can use the edit function to do just that.

I screwed up my machine, too, by trying, very unsuccessfully, to triple-boot with Ubuntu/OpenSuse and then the damn OS killer: Slackware. Couldn't make anything work after that fiasco.
Hope you have better luck w/the next install. -
See /etc/fstab and edit the partition name. Then say mount -a to refresh the mount. That should do it. You need to be root or use sudo to do these.

Backtrack 2 is based on Slax, and after quite a few hours trying to install that I finally found a way to get it right and not write over Grub or my other partitions, so now I've got a tri-boot setup. But be damned if I wasn't pulling hair over that one!
