    FRostWire Problem

    I have frostwire installed on my ubuntu laptop.It works fine but just 1 problem.I can download music and listen to them ,but when i download videos and try to view them it has an error message saying could not open.Do I need some sort of a real Player.

    Probably the format of the video you're trying to watch needs to be played in Real Player.

    happens with avi,mov,mpg,mpeg.

    you should be able to find the codecs needed in symnatec package manager (i think its under system --> administration in ubuntu)

    Yup, just type Codecs under search when in symnatec package manager. And select all. Or do this with Add/Remove programs Or even Automatrix.

    I don't think this feature works on the Linux version of Limewire (Frostwire has a Limewire backend). It can't remotely load an outside application. I have all the codecs installed, and it doesn't work for me either.

    Yea, you are right. I never got it to work that way either, I always preview via the built-in player or open full file direct from the shared folder.
