This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Fedora DL DVD-burner?

    So my roommate's girlfriend wants to get him a dual-layer DVD burner for his upcoming birthday.

    Neither of us have much/any linux experience (all I have is not being able to get Ubuntu 6.06 to talk to my old P2's NIC) and I want to make sure that linux support/drivers won't be a problem with a DVD burner.

    Basically, are there any makes/models to avoid (it'll be an IDE drive), or will virtually any drive work without too much issue?

    LIke I said, I'm a Linux n00b, don't yell at me if there's an obvious answer to this.
