I installed Fedora (first using a custom app install, but it was HORRIBLY slow), so I tried a basic, no options install. Opening up configuration panels is slower than I can deal with (takes a minute flat to open up Network), while with Ubuntu, it's only a few seconds.

Is there something wrong with Fedora, or is it a processor hog?

Other than that, it's not supposed to be horribly slow. (Is it Fedora 8 ?)
