Despite the many features of Evolution that I really like, it is a Novell product, and thanks to their sweet move, I'm looking to ditch it. I don't really like thunderbird, plus it doesn't integrate all that well with GTK (being, well, not a GTK app,) and looks a little crappy because of it.

I've checked out Balsa, but it's pretty light on features compared to the others. Anything else out there that I'm missing?

PS. NOT KONTACT! I don't want to install/load all the Qt libs everytime I open my e-mail program.

    http://directory.fsf.org/evolution.html

Although it may have been first produced by Novell, Evolution was released under the GPL. Meaning that no matter how they decide to go regarding MS and such, Evolution will not be affected.

Don't think that by using Evolution you are supporting Novell. Many other distros use it because it is the best, and they don't pay royalties to Novell at all.

Better yet, Sylpheed-claws, which is the 'bleeding-edge' sylpheed (actually it's now a fork of Sylpheed). It's a lightweight email client with a plug-in architecture. Easy to add HTML viewers, encryption, spam assasin etc. http://claws.sylpheed.org

Actually, Thunderbird is a GTK app. Dunno where you get your info from. It just doesn't use the shared GTK libs, depending on your distro. From what I gather, Thunderbird does use the GTK theme selected in Ubuntu.
