I am trying to burn some data to a DVD that would be used only in Windows. I am getting the following error from Brasero. I have used K3B in the past and I don't remember this error message. How do I get around this limitation? is there some other way or file format to burn this data as/with? BTW - This data that I am burning will be used/read in Windows only. i am not really going to be looking at it through Linux.

    Error:

Don't have your data 6 levels deep? It's basically having too many folders within each other, which will break the way a standard CD's filesystem works. Do you really need the data in folders like you have it?

Yes, I need the data 6 levels deep. The directory structure that I am copying was not made by me, but is a directory from Windows Vista that I need to backup. Is there any way around this? I can't believe that people don't have their files more than 6 levels deep?

Maybe put this whole directory in a zip file and burn that? Hope it extracts properly :(

I've never used Brasero, so I can't tell you how to work around those errors. There's probably an override setting in the options somewhere, though, if you want to try burning it as it is.

But zipping up the data would be a very good solution if you have the disk space to do so. It should extract fine, the issue is the data structure on the disc, not the data itself.
