I have just installed it.
For OpenSUSE Gnome 3 is out.
Personally I find that it is rather ok.
I mean all interface just needs some getting used to.
What disappears in GNOME 3:
-Compiz
-Cairo-Dock (can cause crash when enabled)
I also recommend removal of hidden config files in your home directory to force the applications to rewrite the config files.
I wanted to wait for Fedora for Gnome 3 but OpenSUSE got it officially released first.![]()
A few tips to get accustom to Gnome 3:
-The Windows Button, it is essential to get the shortcuts out and accessible just press it once to reveal all the stuff
-Alt F2 to get a command window
-Alt Tab
Forget about pressing on GUI Controls to switch between applications you definitely need this
A few good things about Gnome 3
-Smooth interface the interface is smoother than the mix of compiz and gnome 2
-Cleaner interface and rendering
-2 Finger scroll is finally bug free.

I'm lovin' Gnome 3 on Fedora 15 Beta!
I was put off by the enormous icons at first, but I've discovered that they're actually pretty useful. A little Fisher-Price-y, maybe, but I think I really like being able to my intended target much more easily with the trackpad. -
Im hoping there is a replacement for the cube, cause if there isnt Ill be sticking with what I have. I cannot work on such a low resolution screen without the cube.

I just downloaded KDE OpenSUSE Live CD and I apologise to all KDE Developers & Users, KDE interface is of a large magnitude better than GNOME.
It wins hands down in customization, performances and aesthetics.
I think that forgives the fact that having all the application's names start with a K is wrong. -

GNOME seems to to going down the dumb user route while KDE improves. -
Oh no not another KDE vs gnome debacle...

I'm running gnome-shell on one of my Ubuntu Natty installs. Love it
And cairo-dock and conky working ok here (a couple of tweaks are required for conky).
