Hello, so I've just installed Ubunto 8.10 since my windows side has fully stopped working.
and i was wondering where i can get a decent drivers for my 9600m gt since its not running anything very fast. i'm lagging on flash games compiz fusion stutters a bit at times and the glxgears benchmark thingys results arnt very good:
    10998 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2199.599 FPS
    12409 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2481.756 FPS
    12880 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2575.935 FPS
    12851 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2567.997 FPS
    12962 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2592.210 FPS

    Thanks

Download the restricted drivers from System - Administration - Hardware Drivers.

Don't expect Linux drivers to be on par with Windows drivers.

I hate to admit it but I have to agree with Lithus, a lot of companies are tight lipped about their drivers and either leave Linux devs in the dark or release crappy binaries. This may not be directly related to drivers though, do you have Flash 10? Since you have Compiz on you should already have restricted drivers installed so I just want to know what driver version number you're using and I want to know the other available version numbers. A screen shot of the restricted drivers dialogue would be perfect though.
