How well does Ubuntu 9.04 (64-bit) support the HD2600? I'm currently using the live version to try it out. Natively it doesn't support 3D (it runs the screensavers like crap). It prompted me to install the restricted drivers, but I can't activate them until I reboot, which is a problem with a live cd.

So before I install, how well does Ubuntu support 3D on the HD2600 card?

Cool, I think I got it. I couldn't get either of those to work, but as soon as I purged the fglrx driver it prompted me to redownload the restricted ATI drivers, and as soon as I did that 3D support worked for the most part. I don't think those drivers are fully developed though, there are still some bugs with it that I am noticing when trying to do 3D accelerated stuff.
