This is more of a PSA to those who are interested in installing Ubuntu onto their HP Pavilion DV6T QE.

If you have purchased you laptop with the HD + 32gb mSSD cache utilizing Intel RST, then you will not be able to install Ubuntu onto your machine. You must break the raid array, and install windows without using Intel RST. You can use the mSSD as a boot drive, but it will not be able to speed up your OS should you install Windows on the hard drive

Why can't you install onto the HDD with RST? dmraid should be able to see it, no?

I don't know how to use dmraid, but when installing the OS, it doesn't recognize either of the drives.

However, if I use gParted within Linux, I can find both drives.
