    Hi All,

    I am thinking of getting a HP pavilion dv6-1240, does anyone know if it is ok with linux distros? If so which one(s)?

    CPU = intel T6500 (Core2Duo?)
    Ram = 3Gb
    HD = 320 Gb sata
    GPU =ATI 4530 512Mb

    I want to know which distro (I am ok with an 32bit destro) is most likely to support the following components of the laptop.

    -ATI 4530 GPU
    -Intgrated networkcard
    -Firewire
    -DVD writer
    -Modem

    Firewire and the DVD writer are very important as I intend on xfer miniDV from my camcorder via firewire and make dvds with the dvd-writer.

    thank you all for your time

    Bob.
