You should be able to connect to some different repositories and install it as a package. Look at this
You don't have to install beryl, but it provides the latest drivers for you without having to install them manually. -
Yeah, but are those really the best drivers to use? I ask because every time that I've tried to get Beryl working I've installed the latest nvidia drivers and upon reboot I get a completely hosed graphics system. I guess my real question is, are the drivers recommended there actually the ones that should be used with GeForce Go (7950GTX for me) chips? I notice that nvidia has a separate download for official Windows drivers for the Go 7000 series -- does this imply that there is some sort of difference that manifests itself in the linux drivers as well?

I have found that they are the best. They have the 1.9xxx series, and it's easier keeping them updated if you install them from a repository. I have those drivers running on my GeForce 6600GT in my desktop and my Go 7600 on my laptop, and they both run like a dream, including doing GL screensavers, while Beryl is enabled. For the Go 7000 series, NVIDIA is just trying to cater to gamers who want the latest drivers and currently have to go through places like laptopvideo2go.com and such. It's got nothing to do with the architecture. The 7800/7900/7950 are all just beefed up versions of the 7xxx series.
Just follow the instructions on that site and you should be able to get Beryl and everything up fine. Just don't use the "unstable" drivers. Stick with the stable ones, even if it's not the bleedingest-edge features, you'll get it working easier and better.
