Well, I decided to try out Linix. The first problem is when I start it, I got no internet. I plug in a cable from my modem into my laptop to get internet. It did offfer me to install few drivers, including some Smartlink modem smth, but I don't have internet to download them. I got this laptop http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152099

    P.S. I'm dualbooting with Windows 7

You may have to plug an ethernet connection into your laptop to download the drivers that ubuntu suggests. Once you've downloaded them through synaptic, you should be able to restart and access your wifi network. Usually the restricted drivers manager will help you do this very easily.

Your intel Wifi card should be supported right out of the box (mine was) and I have the 5300 which is just the bigger brother of your card. did you try the wifi?
