    Well, first of all, what wireless card do you have? What do you have under System > Preferences > Network Connections? Do you have a network icon in your notification area?

    "System" under control panel ?

    Don't see a "preferences" option there



    Found this under System/device manager/network adapters :Intel (R) WIFI Link 5300 AGN , is that it ?

    Yes, thats it. You will need to go to Network manager and add your Wifi connection along with supplying any sort of password that you are using with your network, if it is encrypted.
