So, I just installed Ubuntu 8.04 on my G1s and everything works just fine so long.
But I can't get my S/PDIF to work at all, i've searched the internet and found something about IEC958, but I can't find that option anywhere in my sound settings.

Anyone who knows how to fix it? Or have som tips on how to fix it?

    Moving this to Linux forum.

    The linux guys should know

Have you tried checking if you can download a restricted driver for your audio card?

Oh, didn't even think about there was a Linux section.

Hmm, what you mean by restricted drivers? I'm totally new to linux.

Thanks, but only video drivers there.
However, my sound card do work, if I plug in a normal 3,5mm stick I'll get the analog sound. Also the computers built in speakers work.
    It's just the S/PDIF I can't get to work.

Try setting the volume to zero. I know it sounds crazy, but I remember reading it somewhere, and it certainly works with my U6Sg. Hope this works!
