I've used the Burn Image command in InfraRecorder to burn the ISO file for Kubuntu to a disk, I've set the primary boot device in the BIOS on the computer that I want Kubuntu on to CD-ROM but it still doesn't work!!! What can I do???

P.S. the CD-Drive does work I'm just not quite sure why it's not booting from it?????

Some older CD-ROM drives don't support booting from them (think a 2x or slower drive). How old is the drive?

I'm not sure - I think I salvaged it from a Windows 98 machine - I could probably "borrow" my dad's newer one if he'd let me though if that would help?

    Thanks.

If you want to do a fresh install I would suggest the alternate cd image. It uses less mem and loads faster than the live cd. I faced the same problem trying to install xubuntu on my win98 p3. Maybe the same procedure will work for you on kubuntu.
