    Hey Guys,

    Is there drivers for the 1720 for linux ? Trying to find the 8600M GT video driver for linux but having problems finding it.

    All depends on the distro, some have custom made programs that have do all the work for you

    Short answer: Yes. The latest version of NVIDIA's drivers will support your 8600M GT. You will either need to go to NVIDIA's site and install them from the installer, or just upgrade your distro if you're running something like Ubuntu Gutsy (7.10 pre-release version).

    I just installed the latest version of Ubuntu, 7.10, on my 1720, and it worked great. I had to spend some time getting my wireless to work. If you have questions, make use of the Ubuntu Forum, they will be glad to help.
