OK, I'm interested in simplyMepis & have used the Live CD a lot. I've got some questions though:
    1. Is there a version of Compiz Fusion for Linux?
    2. How can I install the ATI 3D drivers for it?
    3. Is there a list of terminal commands around?
    4. What boot loader is used?

    Thanks,
    Thomas
EDIT: Also, in Ubuntu 7.10, are ndiswrapper drivers better then the native drivers? I'm using the native drivers with propriety firmware, but if ndiswrapper is bettter.......

    Compiz

    ATI 3D Drivers

GRUB is the bootloader used by Mepis

For the rest visit the Mepis wiki

ndiswrapper doesnt always work and its options in linux are not that many, its better to stick with the ones that come in ubuntu ootb

Isn't your wireless detected by default in Mepis? Might want to search the forums / the wiki / package manager

I said ndiswrapper isn't great since when I tried PCLinuxOS it didn't detect my wireless and said to let ndiswrapper know the driver inf file...I selected the inf file and it wouldn't install.

I'd like to tri-boot with it, it looks very interesting to me.
    I'll try ndiswrapper.

The only advantage of Mepis is that, like PCLOS, development is not structured by releases so you can continuously upgrade. Even though I find this attractive, I can't bring myself to embrace Mepis' take on KDE. But I am a Gnome fan fwiw.
