    Lately, Kaffeine sometimes doesnt start:
    ~$ kaffeine
[CTRL-C] DCOP aborting while waiting for answer from 'kaffeine'

This in on debian lenny (gnome)

I have to reboot to make it startup

Taking down the system just to run a program probably isn't necessary, especially for Linux.

Could you please try running Kaffeine through the Terminal and posting the output? This will give some insight into the nature of the error.

I AM running kaffeine thru a terminal (and killing it by CTRL-C when it does not come up). On CTRL-C I get the message "DCOP aborting while waiting for answer from 'kaffeine'

Have you tried removing the kaffeine packages and purging them, then reinstalling?

    sudo apt-get remove --purge packagename

Sometimes reinstalling a package works. The reason why is beyond a Linux user like me who does not understand the gears and cogs of the OS.
