The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Knetwork Manager or Wicd download?

    Anyone know of a .deb download of either of the above? My Wicd hosed (or I hosed it during an update) and I'm kicked off line.

    I know the tar files are out there, but...you know... :D

    ^This won't work too well if he has a hosed network, lol.

    But you can just point your browser to that URL above on another computer, browse through, fetch the .deb, copy it on a usb key or something and use good old dpkg -i, you'll be in business :D

    Yep...I've grabbed the .deb file...work has slowed down enough for me to think about it.....lol thanks
