Hello all. I just installed ubuntu 7.04 on my computer and it seems like everything is working out of the box except the ethernet port. I check my ifconfig and the eth0 is there along with my wifi. The wifi works perfectly and the drivers for the ethernet seem to be fine too but when I plug my ethernet cable into it, the port doesn't recognize a cable is plugged in. I verified this by looking at my router port and the light doesn't light up. I changed cables, verified they are not crossover and changed routers but it doesn't work. But booting back into windows it works perfectly fine.

Anyone else having this problem? How did you fix it if so. Thanks.

I've noticed it with my HGL30, but I haven't really looked into it. I have no idea why it's doing it, and haven't had the time to delve into it. Probably a driver not loading or something. Gotta check out the chipset, figure out if the proper modules are loading. Maybe reload them while the system is running, see if anything changes.

Did you try plugging in the cable and then booting into the OS? I know in the past I've had linux systems that worked this way.
