HP is offering free LIghtscribe upgrade. Was wondering if there are any compatibility issues with Linux or Solaris. Has anyone installed LInux on a notebook with Lightscribe ? Any issues with bluetooth & Linux?

    Any comments ?

Perhaps, I should make my question a little more clearer. If I buy dv9000t with the LightScribe option, would I have any issues installing Linux. Since, LightScribe is a prop tech used by HP, would it prevent intalling LInux due to some driver issues etc. I do not wish to use the lightscribe tech as such in Linux (I will be dual booting). The intent is to make sure that the drive WILL WORK with out a problem on Linux (tasks such as regular disk reading and writing).

No, it won't prevent Linux from working. Linux will even burn CD's to the drive. It just won't work with the lightscribe option of the drive.

See here for someone's experience with Ubuntu and LightScribe: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=106197
