    Not that I can tell. Do you have a link to any documentation that states support for these mobile GPUs?

    The only mobile 8 series GPU I found support for on the NVIDIA Linuix drivers page is the 8700 GT.

    I can say from experience that the 8600M GT works fine (I have a Dell 1520 with one). As far as I can tell, there are no seperate mobile drivers.

    That's what I used to install my NVIDIA driver (card in sig). But other than that I wouldn't know....

    Yes they are recognized! I have 8600M GS and it's recognized! What distro are you using?

    i am not brave to update driver by codeline,i am just waitting for ubuntu 8.04 with kde4^^

    i also update the lastest driver for quadro nvs 140m , but i doesn't work well with google earth , i thought is openGL's problem, not fit or something else i am not sure.but i works
