Hello,
I am thinking about buying a Apple Macbook and running linux on it. Can anyone please tell me.
1) I've read heat is an issue with linux. Is this still a issue or has it been fixed?
2) Since the macbook has a aluminum body, I've read that the wifi signal is not as strong. Is it going to be even weaker with the linux driver?

I've never had any issues w/ heat, no noticeable difference between XP and GNU/Linux.

Never heard of the linux heat issue. A modern distro like ubuntu should run your wifi card just fine, but it makes some difference what kind of card it is.

Most likely majority of your hardware components will be recognized by Ubuntu during installation, with probably the exception of the wifi card... if it is made by Broadcom.
On heat issue, i have not experience horrible heat issue during Ubuntu session. Both the harddisk and laptop adaptor is much more cooler during Linux session in contrast to XP session where it can get too hot. I see no difference when using battery on both XP or Ubuntu session.
But you may see in other threads, it was mentioned that in comparison to Vista, Ubuntu may drain battery power more faster.
