Most people don't look for running Windows programs on Linux, they run Linux/open source equivalent programs that do the same things, if not more.

    Examples:

    Microsoft Office - OpenOffice
Windows Media Player - Amarok, Rythm box etc
Internet Explorer - Firefox, Opera, Galeon etc
    Notepad - gedit
    .....and on and on.

As far as games, some people use Wine to run some windows games. It works with some games, not all.
