Hi all,
It's been a while since I did a Linux install, but I was wondering if most distributions will support the laptop I'm looking at purchasing.
I am eying the Sager NP2092 from Xiotic PC. You can check out the system specs here:
http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np2092-custom-laptop-built-compal-jfl92-p-2347.html
I just want to be sure that mainly the Santa Rosa chipset will boot Linux fine. The only thing I will definitely need to work is the Wireless NIC and Ethernet NIC. I don't care if audio doesn't work.
Can anyone confirm if this chipset and network interfaces will work with Ubuntu or some other distribution? I did some Googling, but wasn't able to find a definitive hardware support list.
Thanks in advance

Don't go just by me on this but I don't think the Intel 4965 802.11A/G/N is supported by at least Ubuntu.
Sorry, it wasn't the wireless card I read. It was the graphics card that I read people had problems with Ubuntu.
Here is a link to 2090 and linux. I know it's not 2092 but I bet any problems there would be in the 2092 as well. -
Since the Sager 2092 is a rebranded Compal IFL90, take a look at this site:
Linux(Ubuntu 7.10)on Compal IFL-90.
Also I believe another user(bond00) is(was maybe) running Linux Mint 4.0 on his ILF90 according to this thread so you might want to PM him and ask .
Linux compatible with new Sager NP2092? (Intel PM965)
