I am running XP on my Samsung NC10 Amazon special edition. I am currently content with it, but when I bought the NC10 I did so with the intention of having a netbook that does the most basic everyday functions with good battery life.
With that said, are there any Linux distributions that supersede XP on a NC10 in terms of battery life and taking advantage of the atom processor? I have been looking at Moblin, but I think it is still in the beta stage and I haven't heard any comparisons in terms of battery life.
Keep in mind that I am simply looking for the most efficient OS on this platform, so please don't let any sort of fanboy tendencies influence your advice.
Thanks!

If you're content with XP you may as well stick with it. Whether or not Linux offers better battery life I doubt there'd be a substantial difference otb. If you're curious I'd just try any of the netbook oriented distro's that offer a live USB image. They should at least come with a custom kernel, even if software packages only offer i386 optimisations.
In short, if you've been looking @ Moblin - try it, they offer a usb image, so no need to install. -

There's another thread on here where the ins-and-outs of netbook distros are under discussion. Take a look at it if you have time. Other than that rockhopper pretty much said it all.
